Introductory Film Making

We also offer INTRODUCTORY classes from award winning and 4 time nominated director, Frank Shank. (For more information, check out our ABOUT section!) This is for anyone who loves movies and wants to know what it takes to get behind the scenes and direct, produce, write, edit, or make a movie! All ages are welcome, though parental approval and discretion will be required for people under the age of 18.

INTRODUCTION TO SCRIPTWRITING:

(Three 60 minute sessions - $150)

This class will delve into introductory script writing. Do you have a script or have you always wanted to write one? We will discuss format, style, and get your script into the proper styles Hollywood is looking for today.

INTRODUCTION TO EDITING:

(Three 60 minute sessions - $450)

This class will help students through the editing process using FINAL CUT PRO X and APPLE MOTION 5 on APPLE computers only! What would you do with a bunch of clips, both audio and visual? Well, editing is where you make or break your film. Learn the basics about turning your clips into film, adding sounds, sound fx, video fx, greenscreening, and MORE!

INTRODUCTION TO FILM:

(Five 60 minute sessions - $750)

Have you always wanted to make a movie? Direct? Be behind the scenes? Now is your chance to learn the basics of film making and have all of the important aspects tie together for success! Learn how to set up a basic shoot, schedule the people, storyboard and setup prior to filming, run the sound (how to run a four channel mixer and two wireless mics and a boom, what to do with your movie when done, how to enter film festivals, and MORE! This will be a basic setup to film making and as part of the completed course, you will have your own DvD, a completed poster design with digital file, and digital copy of your film!

HOWEVER, OUT OF AREA OR ONLINE CLASSES WILL BE CONSIDERED IF YOU CAN PROVIDE YOUR OWN APPLE COMPUTER WITH FINAL CUT PRO X AND APPLE MOTION 5 FOR EDITING, AND/OR FINAL DRAFT FOR SCRIPTWRITING.
